Rincon converter ?
« on: June 03, 2007, 04:08:28 PM »

Well , as some of you know , I like to tinker with stuff . Make it bigger & better than stock . Now I was thinking about putting a big lift and bigger tires on the Rincon . Problem being , this bike has a torque converter . I have 27" tires on it now and it does fine . But , if I go any bigger , I will have to replace the converter to something after market . I've searched high and low around here for an after market converter , do any of you know anybody who makes an after market converter for an '05 Honda Rincon 650 ?

Shane,

Try this forum for help:  www.rinconriders.com
I had seen a product called TRD gear reduction for the Rincon on other forums but could not locate the manufacturer.  You might also try www.highlifter.com to ask their advice.

DD

Ps.  I found one more forum where the TRD was purchased through Highlifter.  (Turner Gear Reduction).

Hey Shane, I seen your pickup at the 3rd parking lot in Winchester bay last saturday. I know it was yours because it said PDP Diesel in the back window and it had like 6 inch stacks coming up behind the cab.  I looked but you wasn't anywhere around. We waited for about a hour during that dune accident, but you were out riding or something. Maybe next time we will catch you.

Well , shoot , sorry we missed you . We kinda decided at about 6:00 friday night that we were going down there . We had to of just missed each other . I got to the truck as they were getting ready to tow the one guy's bike away . Come to find out , it was his sister's bike that he had borrowed for the day , wrecked it , and got it towed for having a suspended drivers licence . Pretty messed up .

I haven't been able to find out anything . I can't even look at rinconriders  forum without making a donation . I have to save my pennies for dunefest . Everyone I have talked to say that they haven't heard of anyone making an aftermarket converter for the rincon , but , I have seen them lifted , so I would imagine someone does make such a product .
