June Ride!

Dune Family is planning a trip to Florence June 13th to June 17th.  We will be staying at the Odd Fellows campground.  Who else will be out playing?

I will be at Driftwood II, for the trike rampage!  You should come by the campground and check out all the trikes, maybe have a cold beverage or 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha, tippy is my nickname. its actually my dogs name but  VP  likes to call me tippy at work all day. anyway looking foward to getting out there not really where im gonna camp just show up and find a good spot. got any in mind??

well, i have never sand camped in Florence before.............however, if I were you, I would be checking out http://www.recreation.gov/welcome.do?topTabIndex=Home to see what is available for sand camping and get some reservations. Not sure how full the sand camping is..........

Driftwood II is completely full.
South Jetty Sand Camp has 1, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14 open for sand camping.
Siltcoos Sand Camp has 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24 open for sand camping.

Campsite are only accessible by 4x4 vehicles via sand (soft) road. Site is identified by numbered post. Camp within 150 ft of post, standard site limited to 5 vehicles/20 people, group site limited to 10 vehicles/40 people. Stop at corridor fee station and complete Sand Camping Permit. I think that the forest service went overboard on the sand camping rules. I think if they were to pull one of there own trailers out there sand camping, they would see it isn't so easy to do. Then maybe they wouldn't be so strict on just where you can camp.  I do however like the idea of a permit to camp. This will ensure that the person responsible for the space will leave it clean.
