THE NUMBERS ARE IN ......
« on: April 01, 2007, 12:10:57 PM »

Well , after a few months of research , wrong orders , late nights , bloody knuckles , and some help from some close friends , we finally have some solid numbers to go by . With all the stuff that has been bolted on , plugged in , or welded on my '04 cummins we are putting out a respectable 614 h.p. , 1383 ft. lbs. of tourqe  and getting a mind boggling 31.6 m.p.g. , I was fairly pleased with the " final " product . Cool

WOW, is about all a person can say, that is incredible. Now, how dependable is the truck? can a person do the same mods you have and keep it as a daily driver and tow rig?

Absolutely ! We built an '05 dodge cummins that ended up out pulling me on the dyno and he uses his truck every day . With a manual transmission , I think his numbers were around 680 h.p. and 1430 ft. lb. of torque . He has a fifth wheel trailer ( I think it's a 28 or 30 footer ) that he pulls when he decides to go to the dunes . The most important thing to remember when you are building a truck is that there are certain steps that you need to take , and a certain order you need to take them in . BE PACIENT  and make sure that you take the correct steps first .

Just an added note that will make the chevy guys pretty happy , we toke an '06 duramax and put an exhaust system , an air box , and an edge juice w/ attitude on it . It pulled 503 h.p. and 1010 ft. lb. of torque ! This was the LB7 motor . We were all very impressed  Cool

PDP,
that is incredible numbers!
I assume that this was from the dyno day @ Fast Specialties last Sat?
How did you calculate the mpg and over what driving conditions?
Your mpg and ft. lbs. of torque are what stand out the most.
Awesome!

I'm running 35" Toyo M.T.s  with a 2" leveling kit . The mileage was easy . First you write down your begining mileage , then drive somewhere , come back , fill up and divide the gallons you burned into the miles you drove  Cool

Wow, I need to find out what you have done to your truck.  I am running 35 X 12.50 - 18s on my 04 Dodge diesel and I can't get over 16 mpg.  I got the 2 inch leveler in the front. Also have the Edge controller, 4 inch exhaust with no muffler or cat, also got a Air-raid air system.  Seems like the more I do the less milage I am getting.  But I can hook onto my 32 foot 5th wheel and pull the mountains in high gear with power to spare.

That's odd . When I had only exhaust and the TST programmer , I was getting 21 m.p.g. , you should be somewhere around that range . From where your at now , the next steps I would do would probably be the head studs then a set of stage 1 or stage 2 injector nozzles ( 50 or 90 h.p. nozzles ) . You would have to do a auxilery lift pump to run the bigger injectors so you didn't burn up your stock lift pump . you wouldn't really need to do the head studs at this point , but it would be a good idea , while you have your valve cover off already . If you want to give me a call , I can work up a price for you and explain things a little better . As long as we have all the parts here , this would be something we could do in about a day , maybe a day and a half . Please call the number on the bottom of your screen . Starving kids are waiting on your generous donation  Cry

Unfortunately this year is all screwed up for me.  I have been living here in this mobile home park for 39 years and about 3 months ago we got new owners. Well guess what. I am the only one to get the eviction notice. Making way for a 4 space RV park going in here in Winchester Bay.  There is schedualed 4 new RV parks going in here this year.

So, either I find a house that I can afford, or be homeless in 8 months.

Man "Towman" I'm sorry to hear that.  Did they offer you any compensation or anything??
Best of luck to you on this issue.

No, no compensation, no nothing. If they want me out right off way then they have to pay me a percentage of fair market value. If they want to wait for 1 year, then they don't have to pay nothing. They told me when I leave to take my mobile home with me to. My mobile home is a 1988 and there is no place on the Oregon coast  that will take a trailer that old.  We almost bought a lot in Lakeside and moved it down there, but when we enquired about the water hookup they told us that there is a moritorium on mobile homes.  They have to be at least a 1998 or newer to put in the city limits. So, I have contacted a construction company and it is going to cost me $1500.00 to have it demolished. Isn't that a shame, work for years to pay for my home and then have to pay to have it torn down.  The fire dept won't burn it because of to much electrical wiring in it.  Maybe I will set it on fire anyway.

So, that is why I better not do any mods on my truck.
