IS MY 3500 A WIMP?
« on: March 26, 2007, 04:58:34 PM »

Well I got in on the Timbren deal this morning and I can't wait for them to get here so I can spend the minutes and minutes I hear it takes to install them.. Grin

I also learned the my big bad SRW 3500 is to be fitted with 2500 model Timbrens?

I guess it takes duals to roll with the big boys.

What my truck doesn't know won't hurt.......right?

the chevy 2500 and 3500 are basically the same trucks.  same motor, same frame, the only major differance is the added rear wheels, along with springs and all. so, that is why you have the same set up for the timbrens.

Don't let your truck hear you talk like that. It might get you back by breaking down on you. Your truck is a stong handsome truck with much engery and can pull anything. Grin.

Well I got my Timbrens  Quick! Only a couple of days after I ordered them. They are some great people over there.
I put them on and already I can tell the overload spring slap is almost gone while running empty. I didn't think I would see any improvement except for towing?  I will be towing with them soon but I will probably have to reset my hitch level. I measured the sag before the Timbrens so now I have to try it again with the Timbrens Installed.
I think I Likey!

I put a 4600 pound load in my pick-up bed over the week-end.  I don't think I could have done it with out the Timbren's

No offence but 4600 pounds isn't nothing.  Back in 1973 my brother and I bought brand new f250 ford 4x4 3/4 ton pickups just alike. Well we use to both drive to Medfore and each pick up 3 tons of lead shot for our trap club. We would put all the 25 pound bags right behind the cab of the trucks and come back to Winchester bay.  We made this trip many many times. That was 6000 pounds.

Yea I guess your right Towman, my truck has a 8in lift on it so when you put a load on, it really looks like your hauling a heavy load.

Well , for a Chevy , that is a heavy load ! Don't be ashamed . I remember when I could only haul smaller loads ....... I was driving a Toyota . ( that was in my younger , skinnier days ).

Welcome back Shane, I expected something from you.  I have a hard time believing that you could even fit in a Toyota!
