Grip Installation
« on: November 24, 2007, 03:18:26 PM »

This was a trick that I was told about at DuneFest.  When installing new grips have an air compressor handy.  Sometime the sticky grips do not want to slide on the bars and you cannot get a good enough hold to push them on.  Try this:

With the help of a friend, have them put their hand over the hole in the bar on the opposite side you are installing the grip.  Force the grip on as far as you can then take a needle valve used for inflating basketballs, football, etc and poke it into the end of the grip then blow air through it with the compressor.  The grip will expand just enough to get it slid into place.
