Saturday March 10th, I plan on being on top of Mt Ashland ripping up the woods, staying on all roads  and riding trails of course, but doing my best to be in  GP by 5:00 Pm.  Any one else up to the ride Sat. morning?  Weather not a matter, I'm going regardless.

You plan on staying on your quad this time?  I've heard about your riding technique on fire roads and you need to work on your dismount!

Next Club Board Meeting is April 21st, in Grants Pass at The Bistro at 5:00 pm.

Last meeting:
It was awesome to see so many new members that came.  The food was great and so was the camaraderie.  It was voted on that duraraptor will be buying for everyone next time since he said he would be there and was a no show.

I was presented with a proto-type pair of T.I. Diapers.  I will be putting them through a rigorous test next week out in the dunes.  I hope not to leak any info...I will make sure my report is not full of it...My research is not all wet...Yuk Yuk Yuk
Dunefest update - Safari Run t-shirt design submitted. All names for those attending submitted.  Events discussed.
Swap Meet - May 5th, 9-6 Medford Power Sports.  Mexican food to be offered.  Advertising ideas discussed.
Senate Bill 49, 101 and HB 2062 updates - Bill 49 is stalled in committee.  101 has a hearing March 12.  HB 2062 looks like it will become law, little opposition.
New activities / Events - Discussion of other BBQ get-togethers.  Fundraiser ideas?  New members recruitment ideas?
T.I. Flags for Toy Haulers - discussed making 3'x5' flags.
Meeting format- Starts at 5pm for socializing and meeting new members.  Food will be ordered towards 6 pm.  6 -7 pm while we eat, general meeting discussion time question and answer period. 7-8 pm board member meeting.

For all of you squares that missed the April 21st Board Meeting here is what you missed:
Great food and fun again head lined this event.  It was nice to meet two new families that attended and since duraraptor wasn't there, we probably did not scare them off.

Cinco de mayo Swap Meet May 5th at Medford PowerSports 10am-5pm.
Tacos, Burritos, Breakfast Burritos along with Monster Energy Drink and soft drinks to be severed by T.I. as  a Club fundraiser, for ATV Safety Training.
Live Band "Barley Legal" (Da Prez's band) to perform in the afternoon.
Posters are made and ready to go.  Check out the Trips/Events section on the forum to see the poster done by our very own Wendy Baker.
Advertising will be in the upcoming Nickel.

Personal update;  Josh is healing nicely since his accident and is on track for a full recovery.  Jill and Dave thank everyone for their prayers and support.

Dunefest 07:
No changes and everything is looking great for another spectacular event.  Don't miss Dunefest, it is the coolest Sand Event in the country.

Rob and Jill Smith were voted onto the Board of T.I.  They are Sponsors of our club and owners of Smith's Sand Cars.  They have volunteered to be one of the State's Representatives for the ASA (American Sand Association)  which is finally expanding into our area.  This will be a great benefit to our club as we need a voice to protect the Dune areas we ride in.  Rob was grilled by VP, to check his qualifications to represent us in the ASA.  Rob was sweating as VP ripped off questions like: "If you were to buy a new diesel pick up which Dodge Model would you buy?"  "A Dodge?" Rob said confused.  "If you are made a Board Member which Sand Rail do I get?"  "The one you pay for!"  Rob said defiantly.  "We'll talk later," VP mused.
Rob and Jill will make excellent representatives with the ASA because of their love of the Dunes and their growing business.  Without sand to ride in they would lose their business and their favorite vacation area.

Senate Bill Updates:
49 is dead and 101 was resuscitated by us and other riders in the State to make some good common sense laws to let everyone ride and reduce accidents.  101 has a work session scheduled for Monday the 23rd.  If we can get it passed we will become the first Rider Fit State with no minimum age!
We are also working closely with our two wheel brothers and sisters (classIII) to have our voice heard load and clear on safety training and rider fit guidelines.  We will also, work together on land use regulations and keeping riding areas open to OHV use.

Next meeting is scheduled for June 3rd with a place and time TBD.

You said that ASA is expanding to our area. Will this help to get the American Sand Drag Ass. to get Winchester Bay on the racing circuit ?  This is what I think that we need. If we could get the big boys to come here, this place would have some real bargaining power then.  Maybe the forest service would lighten up a little.

Reminder for anyone interested in attending the next T.I. Club Meeting.  It is at Guadalajara Family Restaurant in Medford, June 3rd at 12:00 noon.  We have a guest speaker from the Forestry Dept. to explain what we need to do to protect the riding areas of the Dunes and Sand Lake.  Please be there if you can...

Well guys, I'm not sure we are going to able to make the meeting this time.  Jeanne's been admitted into the hospital for a overnight watch.  She's had some problems with her heart  (enzyme counts) before - today her girlfriend at work took her in when she was complaining about pain in the left shoulder.  I'm sure it'll be ok they just wanted to watch her overnight and see if they can't help her out.
I'll have to let you know about the meeting.

Sandflicker,

Tell Jeanne to get better soon!  Everyone at the Dune Dude house is praying for a speedy recovery.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I talked to her just a few minutes ago, and she seems to be enjoying her stay at the Ritz.  She said they have a restaurant style menu - and said she is hoping to be able to stay long enough to have dinner tomorrow night.

Of course , by the time I left earlier today she'd been given quite a dose of morphine  and was feeling hardly anything.

That's what I was thinking.

I just talked t her, and she thinks she'll be calling me pretty soon to pick her up.

Well she's home now- some of the test results will not be back until Tuesday.  Hopefully we'll know what's causing this.  The only thing the Doctor can think of is Epstein Barr Virus, but won't know until later.

Thanks to all for their good wishes and prayers.
