TRANNY..... HOLY CRAP !

Got the tranny done . I had no idea how much power is lost in the stock auto tranny . The truck flat takes off now . I took a cuple buddies ( that own one of the local bike shops ) for a ride in the truck today....... I thottled down to about 3/4 throttle and we were moving , but not very fast . Thats when I realized that the back end was fishtailing from side to side . I looked at the speedometer and thats when I discovered we were doing a 50 m.p.h. burnout ! All of us had an ear to ear grin on our faces . The guys at frontier transmission did a fantastic job installing all the equiptment , plus threw in a new set of high energy clutchs and bands .

It's an '04 dodge cummins with the 48RE tranny.

Sweet!  I've got the manual tranny so hopefully I won't have any of those type of problems..... (at least not for quite some time)

2fun, I dont think he had any breakage, only engine mods(more power) and had the tranny built to handle the additional power.  Right Shane?

Well , I talked to BD diesel & TS performance and they told me that without dynoing the truck , they know for a fact that I am over 600 h.p. and at least 1200 - 1300 ft. lbs. of tourqe . Some buddies and I are planning a dyno day at fast specialties pretty soon . I just have to help one of the guys finish his truck . When I get a solid number , I'll let you know what the true numbers are .

Yea, I went cheap on the PHONE, I have a CAMERA to take pictures.  I saved so much money I went all out and bought a CHEVY.

What type of mileage are you getting from all of your mods?

the last time I checked it , it was at 25.7 m.p.g. , but I added some more stuff to it , so I need to check it again . The last time I drove it the little idiot gauge was telling me that I was over 32 m.p.g. , so as soon as I get some solid numbers , I'll post 'em ! I'll put it this way.... my wife gets mad at me because I get better m.p.g. in my 8,000 lb. truck , than she does in her bmw ! I figure , if thats all she's got to be mad at me for  , I'm doing pretty good !
