I used to travel with the water tanks full.  But, it was causing me to be overloaded.  Be carefull of traveling with the tanks 1/2 full.  Usually they do no have baffles and the sloshing can cause a wild ride coming down some of these mountain passes.   Shocked

DD,  you are speaking of what is called "Free Surface Effect".  and yes, it does mean that weight can shift quickly!
