Flags
« on: July 17, 2006, 04:02:19 PM »

Does anyone have the big 20ft flag poles on their haulers?  I have looked all around for one.  I found a web site that has them, a 19ft  telescopic fiberglass pole for about 40$ and the ladder mount for 20$.  Maybe if there is enough intrest our smooth talking VP can get us all a discount, with T.I. flags.  It would help us all reconize each other if we all flew our TI flags

I went to the local hardware store and bought some PVC pipe, made my own flagpole, use a 3 inch and a 2 inch pipe each at 12' put a screw connector between them so you can disconnect them and slide the 2 inside the 3 for traveling........put 2 eye bolts in the top and you have a 24' flag pole for less than 20 bucks..........

by the way, I got the idea from Towman!

I went to the local cyclone fence company and bought 2 sections of 1 inch pipes. They slip into each other which makes 20 feet. Then I put 4 small eye bolts in the top of one pipe for the 2 flags that I fly. I just bunjie them to my ladder. I can't remember what I paid for the pipes. Oh yah, there light weight to.

I have one of those 3 piece metal flag poles that slip together kind of like the fence pipe. I like it because they are only 7' long so I can put the in the back of the truck out of the way when traveling. I put a stake in the ground below my ladder slip the flag pole over then hose clamp it to the ladder. I have also used this to get the TV antenna higher for better reception.

I will look into this, Last year after our off road show, there was a flag company who wanted to be at this years show. I will look them up and discuss them making our TI flags. (if enough intrest is there).  Grin

Did the VP give up on this or what?  Who would want a BIG TI flag to proudly fly from their haulers.  Lets get a head count.
