Anti-Theft devices
« on: July 07, 2006, 05:55:07 PM »

We have all heard the stories, but what are some of the different ways to keep your bikes where you left them.  We put a cable thru the rear brake rotors, and cover them .

We always cable up the quads for the night when we are at the coast, either in the dunes or at a campground.  Always run the cable through the frame (or rotors), anything that is not easily removed to get the cable out, unlike a-arms, around shocks or front or rear grab bars.

If the quads are stored at home for a period of time try removing one tire from the ATV and storing it in a differnet place.  Most thefts are about opportunity and ease of removal.  It's hard to ride off on a quad missing a wheel or load it quickly into a truck.  Plus, they would have to have another wheel available to ride the stolen quad or sell it.

Just a few tips from your Uncle Dune Dude  Grin

I like the cowbell option. No batteries to worry about.

Duraraptor

Between thinking of selling your wife's quad for a Rail and saying she wears a cowbell, I'm worried something more private of yours might be hanging from the cable.

Her maiden name isn't Bobbit is it?   Shocked

Boy, This is a small world. I think he uses the name Anita just to hide the name Lorina.  Shocked
