For all you Diesel owners out there, be aware of doing anything to your motor until the warenty has expired.  On my 2005 Dodge Diesel I put a Edge chip on it right after I purchased the truck. Well about a month ago now, I pulled my truck down to Spinreel campground, and when I went up Winchester Bay hill, it wouldn't shift out of 1 gear into 2nd gear. After I reached the top it shifted fine. Well a week later I went to the day use to throw some garbage away and when I got out of the truck, I put it in park and went to the back. Well the thing almost ran over me. Long story short. I got it stopped and it was in park.

I taken it to Coos Bay Dodge to get fixed, and they wouldn't touch it. They said that the motor has been altered. Well earlier, about a month before, I got a recall on my truck for the shifting problem. Something to do with it not going intopark. Well I brought it home and taken the chip out. Then I taken it to Florence last monday, the 5th. They still have it. They tried to get me to say that I had a chip in it to.

Both dealers told me that NO aftermarket manufactuer of a chip or anything else that will enhance the power of your motor, will not be covered under a warentee.

As of right now I have no idea when I will be getting my truck back.

This is sooooo true. That is why I like this one so much. It is a stock cps sensor that has been grinded. My truck has been to the dealer and it has never been noticed. With a two degree advance, the computer does not throw a code or log any problem. The techs don't notice it because it's a factor part, Just modded if they were to take it out and compare side to side. The only thing they have said to me is I have a strong running truck.  Grin

You know , edge and quadzilla are making programmers now that will add like 75 h.p. and 115 f.p.t. , and they just plug in to your ECU port , run the program , and then unplug it . If you have to take the truck in for service , plug it in , set everything back to stock ,and unplug . They are saying that some of the programmers like these are undetectable by the dealerships . Just something to think about . Cool

Another little tip for under 100 bucks - cut the catalatic converter off your exaust and add a diesel tuned high performance muffler . This will allow your turbo to spool up a little faster and you'll notice a difference when she does start to spool up ( empty ) .This should work on '06 and under diesel powered trucks . Trucks with a g.v.w. of over 8,200 lbs. do not ( as of yet ) have to go through d.e.q. . I own an '04 cummins and its rated at 9,000 lbs. You can look for your g.v.w. rating on the drivers door , either on the door itself or just below the striker plate in the door jam . Cool

Like I said , I could get you one for around $ 100 . Let me know before the offroad show , so if I can make it down there , I'll just bring it w/ me . That way , your not paying the shipping to have it sent there . Cool

About a year ago I taken my converter and muffler off and welded just a straight pipe on.  Well it was to loud and I was told by my muffler shop that by taking my converter off, the warentee would be void. So I punched a 2 inch hole in the converter and welded it back on. I could not believe how much it quieted it back down. I liked it so much I am still running it that way.

I also just installed an Airaid system on my Dodge. I pulled my 5th wheel on a 500 mile trip and WOW. I couldn't believe the power gain and the fuel milage. Its defanately worth the money.

Thats awesome ! I love talking to people who end up happy with any mods that they've done to thier vehicles . By installing the airraid system and the exaust mods , you've allowed the turbo to work more efficiently , pulling more air w/ less stress on the motor . Did you also notice any change in how fast your turbo spooled up ? Cool

How much better fuel mileage are you talking??

Right now I get 20-21 MPG HWY (unloaded), and around 13-17 MPG pulling my fully enclosed snowmobile trailer.

I get about 20-21 in town, and 23-24 hwy. But remember if you are chipped, you cannot run the rokktech sensor.

I am not chipped.  How many miles you got on your rig??

I've only got about 6,000 on mine.  dealer says my gas mileage should jump by about 3 MPG when I hit 30,000 or so??
