On the Dodge/Cummins (well on mine anyway?) the fuel drain for the water Trap/Fuel Filter dumps right on to the frame and makes a mess so I added a longer hose (I think it was 1/2" dia.) and routed it forward were I can get a pan under it without the mess.
I did the same thing to my Onan 5500 Gen for the oil drain. I Connected a long hose to the drain valve and I tuck the hose up between the frame and drop it to my drain pan to drain the oil.
Just make sure on the Onan that the hose stays on the spigot end. Mine fell off and oil drained all under the generator and dripped down the frame for about three feet passed the unit. Yuk, what a mess...

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a disillusioned, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."

Yes I thought of that so I used a zip tie around the hose nipple at the Gen. After a couple of oil changes it's still holding up ok
