We prefer to camp out in the sand.  We have a 2 year old, 4 year old and a 7 year old that are not up to big rides in the dunes.  They have more fun playing in the sand.  I can sit in my chair and watch the kids and still  watch the action of others riding the dunes.  Also, the 4, 7, and 12 year olds can ride the mini quads around in the sand just outside our front door.  No longs trips down access roads to get to the sand.

At night after dinner we usually put in a movie and watch as a family then put the kids to bed.  (Even if we try to keep them up late, the little ones are up by 7:00 a.m.)

Toys, toys, and more toys Grin
We take the battery powered bikes for riding around camp, along with various board and card games. The Playstation is a must take item on week long trips. The last item is still under construction, an old propane bottle with about 6-10 feet of PVC pipe with a fill valve for compressed air and a rapid discharge valve to launch "Glow sticks" at night. I met some people from Sand and mud.com at Windy bay last year that had this setup, it kept the kids entertained for hours.

We made the mistake of teaching our 10-year-old and 12-year-old how to play 5-card draw Poker.  They're hooked!  Shouldn't really say it was a mistake.  We get some good face-to-face quality time in with them.  Little whipper snappers are vicious!  I imagine they will grow out of wanting to play as time goes by, but for now, Poker is the newest and most popular form of entertainment at our little campsite.

Happy Trails!
