We have a 5th wheel trailer with an advertised 100 gal of fresh water.  When we took the trailer to Christmas Valley for a 4-day stay the water stopped flowing on day three.  We had taken no showers and thought we had been conserving water usage.  I climbed underneath the trailer and the tanks still had water in them.  I could push up on the bottom and feel the water sloshing around.  The pick-up hoses for my tanks are located on the side about 1/2" above the bottom.  However, the tanks sag with the water weight.  The tanks are suspended with two metal straps each that are connected to the I-beam frame.
I went to the local RV place and purchased a fitting that will pressure fit tiself into the bottom of plastic tanks.  I drilled a hole into the lowest sag point of the tank, installed the fitting and re-ran the pick-up lines.
We just got back from Winchester Bay for the Dune Clean-up and stayed for 4-days.  I managed to take two quick showers and we conserved our water usage as before.  When we returned home I still had about 20-30 gallons of water left in the tanks.  And with the new pick-up points I can get just about every drop out with the pump.
