Attendees List (so far) for CALNEVORE Rally May 12-14 2006

I wanted to be certain to invite all of the Temporary Insandity members to our little rally.

Come one and all to our multi state rally. If the PM's and feedback from dodgerblu's post is any indication we are looking at quite a few rigs! For those of you who don't know, Sand Mountain is an OHV park 90 minutes southeast of Reno (right Budman?) Plenty of sand and dessert trail riding so bring your paddles and trail tires for a weekend of outdoor fun in the dessert. The weather in early May is usually mild so pack warm for the evenings. We plan to have a Poker Run and a Potluck get together on Saturday night with the usual trailer crawl and tour of everyone’s rigs and toys so you can “show me yours and I’ll show you mine”!...there will also be a Full Moon midnight ride on Saturday night.

Families most welcome and encouraged as we all get to meet the folks we have spent so much time talking to on the forums.

Brett Merrick, President of FoSM (Friends of Sand Mountain) will be joining us as probably will many of the FoSM members so a good time is assured for all. Remember, there is a $20 entrance fee for this OHV Park.

Do we need to reserve a site for this event?

No, not at all, we will section off an area near the entrance which is whe when we get closer, I will try for a "rig" count. We are anticpating 30+ rigs and we will have a Saturday night pot luck style grand BBQ and Midnight ride. There will be a full moon on Saturday and I don't know anyting more awesome than a moon lit ride on white sand!

I hope to see everyone there, I will be sporting my official "Temporary Insandity" hat as well!

 This sounds like fun! We will most likely be in Baja a couple of weeks before this trip, so I will have to plan on it and see what happens as the date gets closer.

Awesome!... looks like about 20 Toy Haulers have signed up so far. This should be a great weekend.
The moon will be full on that Saturday night and a Midnight Moonlite Ride will be in order! The sand glows an erie light blue in the full moon!

Sounds like an awesome trip! I haven't been to Sand Mountain yet but it was on my list of places to go...what a great way to see it the first time! Is the $20 fee a one time fee for the weekend or daily? May is a ways off for my ever changing calander but I would have to say we will definatly pencil it in!

Sounds good! So far I have 11 confirmed rigs and another 15 who wanna go.

By the time March rolls around we will probably have about 30 families going.

Some new events added to this Rally.
Someone noticed (I think someones wife!) that the Sunday of the Rally is Mothers Day. So in honor of that day (and to make it more likely you wife will want to go) We are having a Saturday Night catered dinner for all the Mom's and female types. All the men and kids will cook and clean and wait on the ladies.
Also there will be a fastest mother race and maybe a highest mother jumper.

Other non-mom events are a family ride, midnight ride, a Tiki Lounge Friday night and a trailer crawl. Website and signups in the works so stay tuned.

This sounds like an awesome trip. How long does it take to get there from Medford? In comparison to Winchester Bay how big is the remaining riding area? Is it a good riding area for kids to, we have a 6 and 8 year old? Do they make out of state riders to Nevada ATV permits? If every thing works out we would like to go and ride a new area, and may have up to three family's with gigs come over.

We would love to have ya! Its about 375 miles-ish from Medford. You will find all levels of riding, beginner, family and up to expert. We will even have a family sand snake (kind of a follow th leader) The best thing is the challege of superbowl and the face and then take off to dessert ridding, so bring dirt and sand tires. There is plenty of ridding for your kids. Just remember... Mom's have the night off on Saturday night and you get to cook for her in honor of mothers day!
