ReserveUSA becomes Recreation.Gov
« on: January 29, 2007, 07:33:21 AM »

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
ReserveUSA.com will be moving to Recreation.gov

Our website, www.ReserveUSA.com is improving and changing its name to www.Recreation.gov on February 7, 2007. In addition to providing reservation services for agencies participating in the National Recreation Reservation Service (NRRS), www.Recreation.gov will also become an enhanced recreation portal and provide trip planning information for many other Federal recreation facilities and activities. Key enhancements and benefits include improved reservation availability searches; the addition of shopping cart functionality (multiple reservations with one payment) and improved regional and campground level maps. Many new facilities and activities from the National Park Service will also become a part of the NRRS and will be available on www.Recreation.gov.

This change is part of the Recreation-One-Stop E-Government initiative. Reservations will be available on our new website beginning at 10:00a.m. EST on February 7. (The current NRRS website, www.ReserveUSA.com will automatically redirect to the new www.Recreation.gov website). In addition, reservations for new facilities joining the NRRS from the National Park Service, will also be available through the NRRS Call Center at 1-877-444-6777 beginning at 10:00 a.m. EST.

As part of this change, all customers with current member accounts on ReserveUSA.com will need to create a new member account on www.Recreation.gov. This is for protection of your privacy and security. Your new reservation account on www.Recreation.gov will only reflect new reservations you make on our new website. Active reservations you have made prior to the move to Recreation.gov are still in our reservation system and will be available for change or cancellation only through our NRRS call center.

You may expect some temporary scheduled interruptions of reservation services during the transition period for our current  National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Bureau of Reclamation facilities. A "reservation blackout" period beginning Wednesday, January 24 and continuing through Tuesday, February 6, 2007, is scheduled for the following facilities:
