Smoking??
« on: February 19, 2009, 06:55:20 AM »

I have a 04.5 Dodge Cummins, 6spd, with a K&n Filter, Rokk tech advance, cat delete and a straight through muffler. It used to only blow black smoke when the filter was dirty or I didn't get on it for a while. This past weekend I changed the Fuel filter, Cleaned the air filter, and changed out all the coolant and thermostat. I can get on it hard now and it blows out black smoke for about 4-5 seconds in each gear. Is this normal? I have about 66k on the truck.

sounds to me like the the truck is breathing better and the black smoke you are throwing is just unburned fuel....

Ask Shane , 503 349 5786.  He'll have a programmer to fix it up, and maybe an extra Turbo or two.
And then  the truck pulls next............

Oh peanut head, Peanut head, Oh that's right, It's Peanut head with a goat Shane. He is a tough beast to wake. Tell me if this is normal for our beast to smoke like this when all under the hood is clean.

The rokk tech sensor will advance your timing by about 2-3 degrees . Your injection pump is gear drivin by the motor. By advancing the timing just that little bit , it is affecting the way the fuel is burned at the lower r.p.m.s . As the turbo spools up , it will clean itself up . Don't worry about it there Sunshine , your trucks not a Ford , it's gunna be just fine .
